Can You Trust The Speed Of Ty Gibbs This Weekend?
1 day agoAfter another disappointing run at Homestead last weekend despite looking really good in practice, fantasy NASCAR players are a bit leery on how much they trust Ty Gibbs right now, and rightfully so. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has struggled mightily this season, with an average finish of 25.7 through the first six races, and only one result better than 22nd. What's even more frustrating for fantasy players is how strong Gibbs has looked in practice and/or qualifying, which is once again the story this weekend at Martinsville Speedway. The No. 54 Toyota ended up 11th-fastest in practice at Martinsville this weekend and will roll off the starting grid from 13th place when the Cook Out 400 goes green. So the question is, should you roster Gibbs in DFS this weekend? At $7,000 on DraftKings, it's a bit enticing to roll the dice with Gibbs, but considering he has never finished better than 18th at Martinsville Speedway in five career Cup Series starts, it's probably best to just stay away once again this weekend.
