Can Chase Elliott Be A Great DFS Option For Richmond?
4 months agoChase Elliott will start fourth for the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway, which will be his third consecutive top-5 starting position at the site dating back to last Fall's Cup event there. In 16 races at Richmond, Elliott has seven top-10 finishes, with six of them being inside the Top five. With 22 races in the 2024 season completed, Elliott has one win, 11 top-10 finishes, and the best average finish of all full-time drivers (10.5). In practice, Elliott ranked 17th in overall lap averages. Elliott's practice speeds do not inspire much confidence compared to his starting position, but Richmond is one of Elliott's better tracks where he does not have a win. The No. 9 driver is a risk because of his low Place Differential upside for DFS, but he is still one to consider for tournament lineups based on his strong track history and overall 2024 performance for this week's race.
