Camilo Doval Takes Tough Blown Save, Picks Up Win
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants closer Camilo Doval blew his fifth save but picked up the win Sunday, recording the final five outs in a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Doval came in with the Giants up 3-2 and runners on first and second. He allowed a run to score, but it was on a throwing error. After the Giants regained the lead in the ninth, Doval came back and shut down the Braves. The 26-year-old now holds a 2.29 ERA and 1.04 WHIP on the season, and although he has blown his last two saves (both on unearned runs) he remains near the top of the league with 33 saves. He is a top-five closer for fantasy purposes.
