Camilo Doval Picks Up Another Save Wednesday
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Camilo Doval picked up his 18th save of the season on Wednesday in the team's 8-5, extra-inning win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Doval didn't allow a hit or a run in his inning of work while walking one and striking out two. The 25-year-old Dominican has been excellent at the back end of the Giants' bullpen this year, posting a 1.80 ERA (2.98 FIP), 1.00 WHIP, a league-high 18 saves, 13 walks and 43 strikeouts in 30 relief innings. He's blown just one of his 19 save chances and has cemented himself in as San Fran's go-to closer in the final innings of games. Doval has been one of the most valuable closers in fantasy baseball this year.
