Camilo Doval Earns Two-Inning Save Monday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Camilo Doval shut the door in Monday's NLDS Game 3 1-0 win over the Dodgers. Doval pitched the eighth and ninth innings of the game to earn the save, allowing no hits or walks with a strikeout. The 24-year-old rookie had a great season with the Giants, posting a 3.00 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 33.9% strikeout rate over 27 IP. While his regular season and postseason experience have given just a small sample size, it is clear that Doval has what it takes to help the Giants win a championship this season and be the potential closer of the future for them.
