Camilo Doval Earns Sixth Save Of Season Monday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Camilo Doval earned his sixth save of the season in Monday's 7-6 win over the Rockies. Doval entered the game to pitch the ninth inning up by one. He got the first hitter out on a flyout, allowed a walk, got the second out on a strikeout, and got the final out on a groundout. The 24-year-old has now converted all but one of his save opportunities with a 2.45 ERA, 20 strikeouts, and seven walks over 14 2/3 innings pitched. He has taken over as the team's closer, especially with Jake McGee (back) on the 15-day injured list with lower back tightness. This makes him a useful fantasy closer option at this time.
