Camilo Doval Earns Four-Out Save Monday
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants closer Camilo Doval picked up his 17th save of the season in Monday's 4-3 win over the Cardinals. Doval entered the game in the eighth inning up by one with two outs and runners on first and third. He allowed a walk to load the bases but got out of the jam with a flyout. He allowed a leadoff single to start the bottom of the ninth, induced a groundball double play, allowed another walk, hit a batter, and finally ended the game on a groundout. It wasn't the cleanest outing, but the 25-year-old has only blown one save opportunity this season with a 1.86 ERA and 12.72 K/9 rate. He should remain a higher-end fantasy option as long as the Giants continue to compete.
