Camilo Doval Earns Bumpy Save Tuesday
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants closer Camilo Doval didn't have his best outing but did convert his 18th save of the season in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Tigers. Doval entered to pitch the ninth inning up by two. He got the first out on a groundout, but then allowed a double, a passed ball which advanced the runner to third, a single, and a walk to load the bases before getting the final two outs on a strikeout and another groundout. Neither Doval nor the Giants have been as successful as fantasy managers were hoping for, but he has only blown two saves with a 2.58 ERA, a 10.83 K/9 rate, and a 4.13 BB/9 rate. Doval's fantasy disappointment has mostly come from lack of save volume, rather than his overall performance and he should be in fantasy managers' lineups for the rest of the season.
