Cameron Payne Gets Hot From Deep
6 years agoChicago Bulls point guard Cameron Payne caught fire from deep, going 7-for-11 from behind the arc in the team’s victory over the Charlotte Hornets. Payne is still starting for the injured Kris Dunn and made the most of it last night. The replacement guard scored 21 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and a block. He even tied the franchise record for three pointers made in a single half. However, we shouldn’t expect this kind of performance out of Payne on a regular basis. He generally isn’t an outstanding shooter from deep, and is much more of a speed threat. With Kris Dunn possibly being out for six weeks it may be time to pick up Payne. On Friday, Payne will get the same matchup when the Bulls take on the Hornets.
