Cameron Davis certainly has the game to succeed at the C.C. of Jackson, as evidenced by his sixth-place finish at this event last year. At an extremely elementary level, Davis is long off the tee and makes birdies in bunches. Over his last 36 rounds, the young Australian ranks seventh in birdies or better gained and 18th in driving distance. The concern with Davis is that he is not always the most consistent golfer, and his ball-striking has not been great lately. He is coming off a 29th place-finish at the BMW, where he lost 1.3 strokes off the tee, and was neutral with his irons. Davis has struggled since winning the Rocket Mortgage Classic, but there's reason to believe that he can regain form on another Donald Ross designed track that is not very resistant to scoring. --Andy Lack
