Cameron Champ Returns To Texas
4 years agoCameron Champ, the Safeway Open and Sanderson Farms Championship winner, looks to take on Colonial Country Club for his second year in a row. In 2019 he shot five-over, finishing T58. Champ is known for his game off the tee, and at the young age of 24, he is second in the PGA with 1.135 strokes gained off the tee. Unfortunately, his driving accuracy is sitting at 56%, which could hurt him in an event without fans and/or hospitality suites to hit into. Champ notably played college golf just three hours south of Fort Worth at Texas A&M, so he’s certainly familiar with the conditions. If Champ can bomb and gouge his way through Colonial and find a hot putter, he can certainly net a return on investment in GPPs.
