Cam Talbot Stops 42 Shots In Shutout Victory
6 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot stopped all 42 shots en route to earning his victory as a Detroit Red Wing. Ville Husso got the starting nod in their first game of the season but was eventually replaced by Talbot after he allowed four goals on 14 shots. Talbot was able to stop 12 of the 14 shots he faced in relief but looked much sharper on Saturday evening as he shutout the Nashville Predators. The Predators dominated play as they had more than 20 shots than Detroit. Nashville also had three power-play opportunities. This is a great sign for Talbot as he looks quite comfortable in his new home after posting a strong .913 SV% and 2.50 GAA last season in Los Angeles. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor this time share going forward as Talbot could eventually take over the starting role if he continues this strong play.

Cam Talbot Re-Aggravates Lower-Body Injury
4 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot (lower body) will not be available Saturday against Toronto. Talbot returned from a lower-body injury in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Philadelphia, stopping 32 of 34 shots, but he re-aggravated the injury in Friday's practice. Thursday's loss dropped Talbot's record to 6-6-2. Alex Lyon (lower body) also remains out this weekend, which puts Ville Husso in the spotlight again. He's yet to register a victory this season, going 0-4-2 with a 3.74 goals-against average and a .870 save percentage.

Cam Talbot Set To Return On Thursday
4 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot (lower body) will likely return to the crease on Thursday against Philadelphia. The veteran was initially expected to be out until the weekend. But Talbot looks ready to rejoin the action on Thursday after the team assigned Sebastian Cossa to the AHL. Talbot, who's been unavailable for three games, has gone 6-5-2 this season with the Red Wings, allowing 2.73 goals with a .915 save percentage and one shutout. He's been in decent form throughout the campaign, but due to Detroit's offensive woes, Talbot hasn't ended up in the win column too often. Only five teams are averaging fewer goals this season.

Cam Talbot To Miss At Least Two More Games
4 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot (lower body) will remain on the shelf Saturday versus Colorado and won't be ready to return on Monday against Buffalo, either. The veteran has already sat out two games with a lower-body injury. Per Ansar Khan of MLive.com, Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde has confirmed that Alex Lyon (lower body) also isn't ready to return, so the team will continue to lean on Ville Husso between the sticks. The Finnish netminder has yet to taste victory in 2024-25, going 0-3-2 with a 3.69 goals-against average and a .877 save percentage. It's been a nightmare so far for Husso, and things could get ugly for him again on Saturday against an Avalanche offense that Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen power. Sebastian Cossa, who has yet to make his NHL debut, will continue to work as the Red Wings backup.

Cam Talbot Hurt On Sunday
4 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot (lower body) was forced to make an early exit in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to Vancouver. He suffered a lower-body injury in the second period. Talbot stopped 12 of 14 shots in the game. Ville Husso made 15 saves on 18 shots after replacing Talbot. The Red Wings are already without Alex Lyon (lower body) and might face a goalie crisis if Talbot also has to miss additional time. Ville Husso, who has struggled badly since last season, would then get the bulk of the action. Detroit returns to the ice on Tuesday versus Boston.
