3 years agoOttawa Senators goalie Cam Talbot is expected to miss five to seven weeks with an upper-body injury. The 10th-year veteran was acquired from Minnesota on July 12th. He appeared in 49 contests last season, registering a 32-12-4 record with a 2.76 goals-against average, a .911 save percentage, and three shutouts in 49 games. Despite the loss for Ottawa, Talbot will be the starter once healthy. He should be considered an option for fantasy managers to draft because Talbot could significantly boost any fantasy lineup after he recovers.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

2 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot stopped all 28 shots he faced in his shutout victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. The Lightning dominated the shot total in the final frame, but Talbot was able to keep the door shut to seal the victory. After a disappointing start to the season, the 37-year-old has begun to turn the corner. Over his previous eight contests, Talbot has posted a 7-1 record with a solid .906% SV and a 2.72 GAA. During this eight-game stretch, he allowed two goals or less in five of these starts. Overall, Talbot carries a 13-10-2 record with a. 906% SV and a 2.90 GAA. Talbot will look to continue this impressive stretch on Tuesday evening, facing his former team, the Los Angeles Kings.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

4 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot (lower body) will not be available Saturday against Toronto. Talbot returned from a lower-body injury in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Philadelphia, stopping 32 of 34 shots, but he re-aggravated the injury in Friday's practice. Thursday's loss dropped Talbot's record to 6-6-2. Alex Lyon (lower body) also remains out this weekend, which puts Ville Husso in the spotlight again. He's yet to register a victory this season, going 0-4-2 with a 3.74 goals-against average and a .870 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot (lower body) will likely return to the crease on Thursday against Philadelphia. The veteran was initially expected to be out until the weekend. But Talbot looks ready to rejoin the action on Thursday after the team assigned Sebastian Cossa to the AHL. Talbot, who's been unavailable for three games, has gone 6-5-2 this season with the Red Wings, allowing 2.73 goals with a .915 save percentage and one shutout. He's been in decent form throughout the campaign, but due to Detroit's offensive woes, Talbot hasn't ended up in the win column too often. Only five teams are averaging fewer goals this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoDetroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot (lower body) will remain on the shelf Saturday versus Colorado and won't be ready to return on Monday against Buffalo, either. The veteran has already sat out two games with a lower-body injury. Per Ansar Khan of MLive.com, Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde has confirmed that Alex Lyon (lower body) also isn't ready to return, so the team will continue to lean on Ville Husso between the sticks. The Finnish netminder has yet to taste victory in 2024-25, going 0-3-2 with a 3.69 goals-against average and a .877 save percentage. It's been a nightmare so far for Husso, and things could get ugly for him again on Saturday against an Avalanche offense that Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen power. Sebastian Cossa, who has yet to make his NHL debut, will continue to work as the Red Wings backup.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
