15 seconds agoHouston Astros third base prospect Cam Smith kept the spring contributions coming in Monday's 5-3 Grapefruit League win over the Marlins. The 22-year-old went 1-for-3 with a three-run triple and is now 4-for-10 with six RBI during the spring, plus he owns a 3:1 BB:K. The former first-round pick is making a good impression this spring, and although he is not projected to be on the major league roster come Opening Day, Smith could be making the case for a call-up later this year should he remain hot throughout the 2025 minor league campaign. The 6-foot-3 right-handed hitter showed well in his first taste of pro ball last year, slashing .313/.396/.609 with seven home runs in 115 at-bats across three levels, finishing the year at Double-A.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
