Cam Akers - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football
1 year agoLos Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers struggled in his first game of the season, as he put up just 29 rushing yards on 22 carries. While the fourth-year back out of Florida St. did get into the end zone, it was evident that the team leaned into using second-year RB Kyren Williams more. This is similar to what happened in 2022, where Akers started the season very slowly, but he did end on a high note and as the clear starter. However, Akers played just 35% of the offensive snaps in Week 1, while Williams played the other 65%, which should scare fantasy managers. Akers has a tough matchup against a San Fransisco 49ers defense that contained the Steelers offense to 41 rushing yards in Week 2. Considering his low snap count and problematic matchup against San Francisco, Akers is mainly a flex play in Week 2.
