Cam Akers Could See More Work Going Forward
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams rookie running back Cam Akers has just 35 carries for 148 yards and two catches for 23 yards on the year. Darrell Henderson Jr. and Malcolm Brown have been the team's two leading rushers with Henderson averaging a solid 4.8 yards per carry. However, there may be reason to believe Akers will see his role expanded in the second half of the year. In an interview this past week, Rams head coach Sean McVay praised Akers' most recent game and added, "I do have trust that he's going to have a really good second half of the season for us." Akers shouldn't be started in fantasy leagues quite yet, but he's worth taking a chance on as a speculative add who could provide some value down the stretch.
