Cam Akers Carries The Day In Week 13
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams rookie running back Cam Akers finally broke through to dominate the leading backfield role in the team's Week 13 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He had 21 carries for 72 yards and a score while adding one reception for 22 yards on one target. His 21 carries were 18 more than either of the other two running backs -- Darrell Henderson Jr. and Malcolm Brown -- and he had 13 more touches than the other two combined. Over the last month, he has seen his role grow consistently, and this was all of that coming to a head. Akers is going to be a little tough to trust next week in a difficult matchup with the New England Patriots, but his matchups get better to close out the year, which gives him league-winning potential as a flex option for fantasy managers.
