Calvin Ridley Shows Off Speed In Second Preseason Game
6 years agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley showed plenty of upside during his matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs secondary. The rookie finished with three receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown. Ridley showed off his speed on the opening kickoff, reversing the field and breaking the Chiefs containment. He also displayed his quickness on his first reception of the game, a 36-yard pass from quarterback Matt Ryan, burning the corner on a double move. Ridley also led the team with six targets on the night. It’s clear the Falcons want to get the ball in Ridley’s hands and let him utilize his natural abilities. The first-round pick should be a target on screen plays and deep routes. Ridley’s fantasy appeal may go down when Julio Jones returns to the lineup, but the rookie should be a threat anytime he touches the ball.
