4 years agoChicago Blackhawks defenseman Calvin de Haan (hip) will miss Friday's clash with the Predators with Nicolas Beaudin drafted in as a replacement. De Haan returned from a two-game absence in Wednesday's meeting with Nashville but logged only 3:50 of action in a 5-4 overtime win. He has managed 10 points in 44 games this season with 99 hits, 85 blocks and 58 shots. His willingness to put his body on the line will certainly be missed here. Beaudin boasts five points for the campaign in 14 games with 12 blocks, eight hits and six shots.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 years agoChicago Blackhawks defenseman Calvin de Haan (wrist) will be back in action on Sunday against Vancouver after missing Saturday's 5-2 loss to Edmonton. He's dealing with soreness in his right wrist, and the 30-year-old was a game-time decision on Saturday. Interim head coach Derek King has confirmed that de Haan will be back on Sunday, joining Seth Jones on the first defensive pairing. Caleb Jones takes a seat. De Haan has gone pointless in 16 appearances this season, but he does have 30 hits and 37 blocks to his name with a minus-five rating.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 years agoChicago Blackhawks defenseman Calvin de Haan likely will not play tonight in Edmonton. This is because the defender is banged up and Chicago seems poised to go back to the 12/6 format. It is believed he will still be a game-time decision for the Blackhawks. Now, de Haan has provided zero offense this year in 16 games. That is right. He has 18 shots on goal and no points. Also, de Haan is a -5 with 37 blocked shots and 30 hits. This is all in 18:26 of action for the third-pairing blueliner. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
