Calle Jarnkrok Strikes Twice In Saturday's Win
4 years agoNashville Predators forward Calle Jarnkrok recorded two goals in Saturday's 4-2 win over Columbus, opening the scoring with a power-play marker and registering the game-winning goal. Colton Sissons and Filip Forsberg provided the rest of the goals. Jarnkrok picked up an injury early in the season, but he has done well since returning to action, producing five points in seven outings this month. He has four goals and six points in 11 appearances for the season with 14 shots. The 29-year-old Swede is currently logging top-six minutes and skates on the second power-play unit, so he should be an attractive piece in deep fantasy formats. Especially with Nashville starting a two-game set against the Red Wings, who give up 3.20 goals per game and boast a lowly 71.9 percent penalty kill.

Calle Jarnkrok Out Month-To-Month Following Surgery
4 months agoToronto Maple Leafs center Calle Jarnkrok (lower body) has undergone groin and sports hernia surgery and will be out month-to-month. The Swedish veteran has yet to play this season, and it's possible we won't see him until 2025. Jarnkrok has offered solid production in a limited role on the Maple Leafs squad, recording 60 points (30 goals, 30 assists) in 125 games since joining the team as a free agent in 2022. The 2023-24 campaign was also marred by health issues for Jarnkrok, as he ended up skating in only 52 regular-season games.

Calle Jarnkrok Sits Out Preseason Finale
5 months agoToronto Maple Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok (lower body) will not play against Detroit in Saturday's preseason finale. After sustaining a lower-body injury early in preseason, Jarnkrok returned to action Thursday versus Detroit, but he will miss the rematch after re-injuring himself. Following Thursday's game, Jarnkrok was held out of Friday's practice and was labeled as day-to-day. He needs to get healthy by Wednesday if he doesn't want to miss the season opener. Jarnkrok will fill a middle-six position in the Maple Leafs attack once he's cleared to return.

Calle Jarnkrok Returns To Action
5 months agoToronto Maple Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok (lower body) returned to the lineup on Thursday against Detroit. He logged 14:42 of action in a 2-0 win, finishing with one shot and one hit. A lower-body injury has hampered Jarnkrok's preparations for the 2024-25 NHL campaign. However, after returning to action on Thursday, it appears Jarnkrok will be good to go for the team's regular-season opener on Oct. 9 versus Montreal. The Swedish forward has notched 30 goals and 60 points in 125 games since joining the Maple Leafs in 2022-23. He's projected to start the season on the second line, putting Jarnkrok in a good position to make a mark offensively.

Calle Jarnkrok Practices Friday
11 months agoToronto Maple Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok (hand) practiced with the team on Friday and is a possibility for Game 1 of the postseason Saturday versus the rival Boston Bruins. The veteran has been sidelined since suffering his second hand injury of the season in a 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on March 14. Jarnkrok missed time earlier in the season with a broken knuckle suffered when he was hit on the hand by a shot in practice. The Swede has recorded 10 goals and 21 points on 92 shots on goal across 52 games this season after posting career highs with 20 goals and 39 points in his first season with the Leafs in 2022-23.
