Caleb Smith Strikes Out Season-High Eight In Loss
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Caleb Smith allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out a season-high eight over five innings in a 2-0 loss to the Brewers. Despite being tagged with his second loss of the season, it was Smith's best outing to date as he lowered his ERA from 3.32 to 3.14, and he now owns a 25.5 percent strikeout rate on the year. He looks like a decent streaming option in deeper formats right now, and if he can put together a similarly solid outing in his next trip to the mound, then managers in shallower formats can start looking at him as a potential streamer.
