Caleb Durbin Continues To Hit At Triple-A
1 week agoMilwaukee Brewers infield prospect Caleb Durbin went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, bringing his hit streak to six games while hitting safely in seven of eight. The former 14th-round draft pick is slashing .294/.333/.559 with two home runs and one stolen base to begin the year. He looked primed to make the Brewers' Opening Day roster after a strong spring showing, but was ultimately sent to Triple-A for more seasoning. With Brice Turang entrenched at second base and hitting well, Durbin's path to playing time is through shortstop or third base. Notably, Durbin was at third base on Tuesday, so it could be six-home run spring training star Vinny Capra who could be on the hot seat after an 0-for-4 night for the Brewers dropped his BA to .130. Whenever Durbin does get the call, he could be a significant source of stolen bases and is eligible at 2B, 3B, and SS on Yahoo!, giving him some added fantasy appeal.
