Cal Raleigh Out Of The Lineup Monday
1 year agoSeattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is not in the club's starting lineup Monday versus the Oakland A's and left-hander Kyle Muller. The switch-hitting backstop has struggled versus southpaws this season, hitting just .197 with a .611 OPS against them while his 66 wRC+ off lefties represents production 34% below the league average. Raleigh has nonetheless been on a tear of late, slugging 11 home runs since July 31 while driving in a hefty nine runs over his last six games. For the season, the 26-year-old is hitting .230 with 25 home runs, the latter of which paces all big-league catchers. Brian O'Keefe will get the starting behind the dish and hit ninth against Mullers Monday night in Seattle.
