C.J. Cron To Miss Remainder Of 2020 Season
4 years agoDetroit Tigers first baseman/designated hitter C.J. Cron has been ruled out for the rest of 2020 due to a season-ending knee injury that he sustained Monday. Whether Cron’s tenure with the Tigers is up remains to be seen as he is set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the year, but he showcased his power in the 13 games that he appeared, delivering a career-best 142 OPS+ and .548 slugging percentage. Cron’s absence allows Miguel Cabrera to hold down the DH spot with increased regularity, with Jeimer Candelario shifting to take over full-time first-base duties.
