C.J. Cron Hopes To Play By Friday
2 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron (back) said that he won't be in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals and probably won't be in there on Wednesday, either. He plans to take batting practice on Tuesday. Swinging doesn't bother Cron, but running and stopping are issues. He's hoping to play after a day off on Thursday in the series opener on Friday against the Oakland Athletics. Michael Toglia is getting another start at the cold corner on Tuesday and is hitting seventh against Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams. Cron is missing his fourth straight game on Tuesday due to lower-back tightness, and he remains day-to-day. The 33-year-old has provided modest power to fantasy managers in 2023 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI in 53 games.
