6 years agoTampa Bay Rays first baseman C.J. Cron homered versus the Athletics Tuesday. His home run was the first of three by the Rays in consecutive at-bats. The HR was his 12th of the season. The RBI takes his total for the season to 31. With the trade of Span, Cron became the team leader in the category. His 12 home runs on the season put him well ahead of a pace to break his career high of 16. He is currently batting .268, which is much better than many late-round power options. Also worth noting is that he accumulated most of his 2017 stats and fantasy value in the second half of last season. He is not a shallow league standout, but he definitely has value in deeper leagues.--Jamie Mellor
