C.J. Cron Could See Consistent Playing Time
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays first baseman C.J. Cron may see consistent time in 2018. Manager Kevin Cash says Cron will be more than a platoon player and could play "a lot." One possible alignment could see Brad Miller playing second base while Cron plays first and outfielder Denard Span serves as the designated hitter. Cron might also see time at designated hitter while Miller plays first base. Cron had a .248 batting average, 16 home runs and 56 RBI for the season but hit 14 of his home runs and drove in 42 of his runs in the second half. Cron is a decent depth player in AL-only formats or deeper leagues, especially if he performs more often like he did in the second half of 2017 than the first.
