6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan insists quarterback C.J. Beathard won’t be benched following Week 7’s blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Beathard threw two picks and lost a fumble while being harassed all day, absorbing seven sacks. He’s now committed 10 turnovers compared to scoring eight touchdowns. While the reeling Niners are winless in Beathard’s four starts, Shanahan believes he's still the “best quarterback” the team has. With only unproven second-year player Nick Mullens on the bench, it’s tough to argue. The Niners face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8 where Beathard will be a middling QB2.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
