6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard faces a formidable challenge in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals 10th best pass defense (250.3 yards per game). Beathard showed no timidity in Week 4, slinging the rock 37 times for 298 yards and two touchdowns. However, he also threw two critical picks and failed to complete any big plays outside of an 82-yard catch-and-run to tight end George Kittle. Beathard’s receiving unit suffers from myriad injuries and the matchup could be a time of possession battle, so the Niners might opt to lean heavily on running back Matt Breida. While Beathard could serve as a QB2 streamer or DFS punt, he’s not a realistic fantasy option in standard leagues.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
