Washington Redskins running back Byron Marshall appears to have recovered nicely. Having been placed on IR late last season with a hamstring injury, it was important for Marshall to have a good showing in the first preseason game. He caught a 25-yard TD which involved showing both his hands on the catch as well as his running to get into the end zone. Not shown in the box score was that he also looked good in pass protection earlier on the drive. He is fighting for the fourth RB spot behind Derrius Guice, Samaje Perine and Rob Kelley and made some progress towards that goal Thursday.--Jamie Mellor
