Byron Buxton Going Back To DL
6 years agoThe Minnesota Twins placed outfielder Byron Buxton (toe) on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured left big toe on Tuesday. Reliever Aaron Slegers was recalled from the minors in a corresponding move. It appears Buxton may have come back too soon from his initial DL stint for the same injury, and he's hitting a measly .159/.187/.205 in 88 at-bats this year. It's looking like a lost season for the speedster, and a toe injury won't help him use his speed to his advantage. Buxton teased a breakout season in 2018 when he started to turn things on late last year. Ryan LaMarre is starting for the second straight game in center and figures to see more playing time moving forward. Buxton isn't a must-hold any longer in mixed leagues, and it's unclear how much time he'll miss this time around.
