Kyle Busch Will Need To Overcome 36th-Place Start
2 years agoOne of the bigger stories coming out of the two Bluegreen Vacations Duel races on Thursday night involved two-time Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch, who got bumped and spun while in the lead. Busch led a race-high 28 laps in the Duel, but was turned by Daniel Suarez on the backstretch with 20 circuits remaining. He ended up finishing 19th out of the 21 cars and will have to use a backup car in Sunday's Daytona 500. He will also have to start that race from the 36th starting spot. While starting position doesn't really matter at a track like Daytona, it is still a disadvantage to start out the race for Kyle Busch and the #8 team, plus it increases the chances of him getting caught up in an early race wreck if that were to occur. Busch has never won a Daytona 500 but he did finish 2nd to then-teammate Denny Hamlin in the 2019 Great American Race.
