Madison Bumgarner Looks Great Again
4 years agoArizona Diamondback starter Madison Bumgarner continued his unforeseen resurgence Thursday against the Marlins in Miami. The southpaw allowed just two hits and a lone run across six innings and perplexed the Marlins all game. Bumgarner gave up a leadoff homer to the first batter of the game but he then allowed only one more baserunner the rest of the way. One of the worst starters in baseball across his first three starts, Madbum has allowed just three earned runs in his past four starts. Suddenly regaining his velocity after averaging 88 mph on his fastball to start the year, he is slowly starting to look like a viable fantasy option. With his next two starts scheduled to be at home against Washington and on the road in Los Angeles, fantasy managers should use these as a litmus test to discover which Bumgarner we will see moving forward.
