For the first time since October and just the third time this season, Buddy Hield was held below 10 points. On Friday night, the Sacramento Kings shooting guard went 3-for-15 from the field and made one of his nine three-point attempts. He managed to somewhat salvage his fantasy night with eight rebounds and six assists, but overall it was a disappointing evening. Hield had been on fire to start December. He averaged 25.8 points per game over the first seven contests but has cooled like an iceberg over his last three games, averaging just 13.3 points. Luckily for Hield, he has an immediate chance to bounce back on Saturday night against the Memphis Grizzlies and regain some faith from his fantasy managers.--Euan Leith

Golden State Warriors guard Buddy Hield (illness) is available for Monday's matchup with the Orlando Magic. The veteran isn't feeling well. Fortunately, the illness won't force him to miss his first game of the 2024-25 campaign. Hield is hard to trust from a fantasy standpoint. But he had 13 points while shooting 3-for-5 from deep in Friday's loss to the Phoenix Suns, so fantasy managers hope he'll keep it going on Monday night. However, Hield could have a tough time getting that done versus an Orlando squad that has allowed 105.4 points per game this season, the second-best average in the NBA.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors acquired guard Buddy Hield in a sign-and-trade with the 76ers. In exchange, Philadelphia will receive a 2031 second-round pick. Hield, who will earn $21 million guaranteed in Golden State, began last season with the Indiana Pacers before getting traded to Philadelphia. He averaged 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists with the Sixers while shooting 38.9% from behind the arc. Although Hield might not start consistently in Golden State, he should see enough minutes to remain relevant from a fantasy standpoint, considering the Warriors have a significant void to fill offensively in the wake of Klay Thompson's departure to the Dallas Mavericks.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

According to Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, impending free agent guard/forward Buddy Hield is expected to draw "strong interest" from teams this offseason, with the Bucks, Magic, Suns, and Timberwolves the favorites to acquire his talents. After inking a four-year, $94 million contract with the Kings in 2020-21, Hield was dealt to Indiana before eventually ending up in Philadelphia for the 2023-24 campaign. While Hield had some solid performances, he struggled overall by averaging 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while shooting 38.9% from deep. Fortunately, the 2016 No. 6 overall pick could turn things around with a new club, meaning he has a good chance to bounce back for fantasy managers in 2024-25.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Cameron Payne will join the starting unit for Sunday's contest against the Knicks, replacing Buddy Hield. The veteran is getting his third start in four games after previously filling in for Kyle Lowry and Nicolas Batum. He starts on the backcourt alongside Lowry this time, with Hield set to lead the second unit. Together with his time in Milwaukee, Payne has made five starts across the season, amassing a respectable 14.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in the role. Hield began the campaign as a bench piece in Indiana, so the role isn't anything new for him, and he should still get plenty of action off the pine.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
