Bud Norris Works a Five-Out Save on Wednesday
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Bud Norris recorded a save on Wednesday, pitching 1 2/3 innings, striking out two. Norris did not allow any base runners of his own, but he did inherit three from the awful Greg Holland, allowing one to score. In a game that Norris likely thought he'd get to take off (his team was winning 7-3 heading into the eighth inning), he was able to come in and quickly clean up the mess Holland had made. It was his ninth save of the season, and his ERA dropped to 2.14.
