Bud Norris Throws Live Batting Practice on Tuesday
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals right-handed relief pitcher Bud Norris (hamstring) threw live batting practice on Tuesday. Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said that the reason they were having Norris throw batting practice instead of pitching in a regular game was because they wanted him to be able to get his work in without having to worry about fielding his position or having to run off the mound to cover first base. It remains unclear exactly what role Norris will play on the St. Louis pitching staff. He could work anywhere from middle relief to the closer's role to the starting rotation.
