Buccaneers Expect Mike Evans To Be Ready For Week 1
1 year agoTampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that wide receiver Mike Evans (groin) will definitely be ready to play in Week 1 of the regular season against the Minnesota Vikings. Evans didn't play in the team's preseason finale against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday due to a groin injury he's been dealing with, but it looks like the Bucs are just being cautious with their star receiver. If it had been a regular season game, the 30-year-old would have suited up. Still, this is something to watch for the four-time Pro Bowler as he kicks off a new season, going from future Hall of Famer Tom Brady under center to Baker Mayfield. Evans will still be Tampa's top target, but most folks are expecting a significant drop in production with Mayfield leading Tampa's offense in 2023.
