Bubba Wallace Proud of Himself After 12th at Watkins Glen
1 year agoThere is one final question mark left when it comes to the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs field, and right now, Bubba Wallace is in the cat bird's seat. Thanks to a solid performance out of him at Watkins Glen on Sunday afternoon, Bubba now has a comfortable 32-point lead for the final Playoffs spot heading into the season finale at Daytona next weekend. After the race, Bubba stated, "I'm proud of myself, and that's the first time I've felt proud of myself after a road-course race. Just executed and didn't lose focus, maybe one time. And that's the difference-maker. You've got to stay on it in these places. Hats off to my team for sticking with me and believing in me." If there is no new winner at Daytona next weekend, Wallace will likely only have to avoid a disastrous race to hold onto the final Playoffs spot. Of course, anything can happen at Daytona, so it won't be an easy task.
