Bubba Wallace Has An Eventful Day At COTA That Ends In 20th-Place Finish
15 mins agoBubba Wallace of 23XI Racing had a rough day at Circuit of the Americas on Sunday during the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, finishing 20th. After starting the race from the second position, Wallace competed for the lead early before he earned a penalty for shortcutting the track on lap five, setting him back into the field. By the end of the first stage, Wallace decided to stay out of pit road until after the stage break, winning the first stage, his first ever on a road course. Despite falling back at the beginning of the second stage, Wallace would rally through the field and made it to eighth by the end of the stage, scoring more stage points in the process. In the final stage, Wallace would struggle to get back to the top 10, as he scored a choose rule violation on lap 83 and then spun from the 17th position on the final lap. Even if the No. 23 driver spun, he still held on for his second career top-20 finish at COTA, ending an eventful day of struggle.
