Bubba Chandler Continues To Raise Stock
5 months agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Bubba Chandler put together his third straight quality start for Double-A Altoona on Wednesday to improve to 5-5 on the season. Chandler worked 7 2/3 scoreless innings and allowed two hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. Chandler is in his third season with the club and has become the top-rated prospect in a good Pirates system at the moment. With the Pirates already having Jared Jones and Paul Skenes at the big-league level, Chandler appears to be the next star pitcher in the making for a young Pittsburgh rotation. On the season, Chandler sports a 3.45 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 75 strikeouts over 61 2/3 innings with 15 appearances (13 starts). The right-hander has flown up prospect boards over the past season, but he is proving to be the real deal thus far and dynasty managers should take note of what could be another strong performer on the mound for the Pirates.
