Bryce Miller Gets A No-Decision On Wednesday
1 year agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller took a no-decision on Wednesday when he allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts over six innings in a 5-4 win over the Oakland Athletics. Miller struggled with his efficiency in this one but he battled long enough to give his team six innings. He really had just one bad inning, the second, in which rookie Lawrence Butler tagged him for a two-run homer and Ryan Noda doubled in Esteury Ruiz. He ended up needing 94 pitches just to get through six innings but it counts as a quality start in the books, even if it's against a low-level offense like Oakland. The effort gives Miller a 3.93 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 100:21 K/BB ratio over 107 2/3 innings (20 starts) on the season. His next turn will be tougher as the Mariners will face the Cincinnati Reds on the road.
