Bryce Harper Unlikely To See Starts At First Base
6 years agoWashington Nationals manager Dave Martinez said outfielder Bryce Harper looked good taking ground balls at first base Monday, but Harper would only be an option there "in a pinch" and is unlikely to see any starts at the position. Added positional versatility would've been nice for Harper owners, but that doesn't look like it'll happen. The left-handed hitting phenom is slashing a disappointing .216/.366/.475 on the year, but he does have 20 home runs, 49 RBI and six steals. Harper is walking 18.7 percent of the time and has an unusually low .223 BABIP, so he's bound to heat up here soon in the average department.
