Bryce Harper Diagnosed With Right Foot Contusion
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper has been diagnosed with a right foot contusion after being struck by a fastball during Friday’s 3-2 win over the Blue Jays. Harper, who began the day 0-for-2, was struck by a fastball in the right ankle against Toronto pitcher Trent Thornton during his third appearance at the plate. After spending time down in the dirt, Harper limped off the field and will reportedly receive an X-ray. Manager Gabe Kapler told reporters after the game: “We don’t have reason for major concern,” but as Harper still searches for his first hit as a Phillie, the news can still be seen as a setback with just 13 days until Opening Day. Harper is 0-for-5 this spring with three walks, three strikeouts and a hit by pitch.
