Bryan Woo Tosses Hitless Outing Thursday
8 months agoSeattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo enjoyed an impressive performance in a Cactus League contest against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. The 24-year-old tossed 2 2/3 frames of hitless ball to go along with three strikeouts against just one walk in his second appearance of the spring, bouncing back from a tough outing in which he yielded four earned runs on six hits and a homer across just 1 1/2 innings against the Rockies on March 1. He is expected to line up as the Mariners' fifth starter on the heels of a rookie season that saw him work to a 4.21 ERA alongside a 16.7% K-BB% across 18 starts. Woo made the jump to the big leagues straight from Double-A where he dominated to the tune of a 2.05 ERA and 27.3% K-BB% across nine starts. He has the combination of strikeout stuff and quality control that can be a big boon to fantasy managers in the 2024 season.
