Bryan Woo Reinstated And Starting On Friday
4 months agoThe Seattle Mariners reinstated right-hander Bryan Woo (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list on Friday and optioned right-hander Eduard Bazardo to Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move. Woo will make the start on Friday versus the division-rival Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim and is a recommended fantasy play despite this being his first start coming off the IL. In his lone minor-league rehab start for High-A Everett on July 6, Woo gave up two runs while walking two and striking out two in 2 2/3 innings (45 pitches). The 24-year-old might not make it too deep into Friday's outing, but the matchup is just too nice to pass up, and he had also gone 3-1 with a 1.77 ERA and 0.69 WHIP with 28 strikeouts and only three walks in his 40 2/3 innings prior to landing on the IL again with his hamstring injury. In his first meeting with the Halos on May 31, Woo went six shutout innings.
