Bryan Reynolds Continues To Struggle
1 year agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds went 0-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in a 7-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday. The struggles continue for Reynolds who is batting just .205 with a .609 OPS over the last 30 contests. He nearly ended the Pirates' seventh-inning rally when he appeared to ground into a double play with the bases loaded to end the inning before a team challenge ruled it a force-out instead. As a result, Reynolds was awarded an RBI and came around to score later in the frame. The 28-year-old was one of the best players in all of fantasy baseball in April after he slashed .323/.351/.586 with five home runs, 22 RBI, and five stolen bases. However, it's been a tough slog ever since as his current batting line sits at .255/.323/.427 with just nine home runs, 44 RBI, and eight stolen bases. It's worth noting that Reynolds landed on the injured list back on June 22 with lower back inflammation. Although it was a minimum stay on the IL, back issues can be tricky and tend to linger. He still has time to turn things around but it's fair to say he's been underwhelming overall.
