Bryan Reynolds 2025 Player Outlook: Reliable Production Expected From Multi-Category Contributor
2 days agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds put together another fine season in 2024, posting a .275-24-88-73-10 line with a .343 wOBA and 118 wRC+. That makes four consecutive seasons with at least 24 home runs and two straight with double-digit steals. Much of his 2024 production came in June and July after slashing .328/.389/.566 with a .409 wOBA and 163 wRC+, which included a 25-game hit streak during that time. It comes as no surprise as the switch-hitter is a .340 career hitter in June, hitting no better than .280 in any other month. Still, his counting stats on the whole have remained fairly steady the past few seasons, however, he's seen his walk and contact rates decline each season since 2021 down to 8.2% and 72.9% respectively, so caution is warranted. Also, the environment in Pittsburgh seems to limit any additional offensive upside, although the former second-round draft pick could see time at first base in 2025 and positional flexibility should provide some added fantasy appeal. Nevertheless, expect another unexciting yet productive season from the former All-Star, who appears undervalued in early drafts, with RotoBaller ranking him at 80 overall while he carries an NFBC ADP of 91.
