Bryan Mitchell Scratched From Saturday Start
7 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Bryan Mitchell was scheduled to start against the Diamondbacks on Saturday, but was scratched shortly before first pitch due to neck stiffness. Manager Andy Green downplayed the injury after the game, saying that Mitchell should be back on the mound in a couple of days. This spring, Mitchell has made three starts, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over eight innings while posting a 6.8 K/9. A spot in the rotation has been guaranteed for Mitchell since early in Spring Training, so this injury should not have an effect on what little fantasy value he currently has.
