Bryan De La Cruz Returns To Starting Lineup Thursday
2 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz will return to the starting lineup Thursday after getting a breather on Wednesday. The 26-year-old has collected just two hits across his last 29 plate appearances spanning seven games while he's struck out in 17 of those trips to the plate. It appears the club is easing him back into the lineup in a lower-pressure role as he'll hit eighth against Braves left-hander Dylan Dodd. For the season, De La Cruz is hitting .250 with two homers, one stolen base, and a .656 OPS across 103 trips to the plate. There's still plenty of upside for a player that homered 13 times with four stolen bases across 115 games last season along with a bat that ended up slightly better than league, as per his 104 wRC+, as a 25-year-old.
