Bryan De La Cruz Hits His First Home Run
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie outfielder Bryan De La Cruz hit the first home run of his major league career in Wednesday's 7-0 win over the San Diego Padres. De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with the home run and a double, also drawing a walk. De La Cruz has shown several positive signs in his time with the Marlins since being acquired from the Astros in the Yimi Garcia trade. He's hitting .267 with a .676 OPS and playing strong defense. His upside seems capped as a fourth outfielder, but with the Marlins set to evaluate their young guys for the rest of the season, De La Cruz should see plenty of playing time going forward.
